DE&I isn’t about ticking boxes. We want the industry to be a fairer, better place. That’s why we’ve created a supportive and inclusive agency where everyone can thrive.

The Good Relations DE&I Team (which is part of the award winning VCCP Collective) brings diverse influences into the agency through a number of experiences, training and resources.

Our latest initiatives include the DE&I bookclub, our monthly DE&I-GEST and our quarterly speaker programme, where we bring speakers in to educate us on a whole host of subjects, from representing the disabled community authentically through our work to fostering a fairer workplace through equitable pay.

We work closely with the VCCP DE&I Collective to create a culture of inclusion.

  • Over 8 weeks we celebrated Asia and the Middle East.
  • For Black History Month, each week focused on a theme of food, music, film or culture.
  • Other events have focused on International Women’s Day and neurodiversity awareness.

We want to attract talent from all backgrounds.

For all our hires, we have a set of recruitment principles which mandate that a diverse list of candidates must be interviewed before a job offer is made.

The Table is our entry level programme, where we’re looking for people full of enthusiasm, who have a point of view and ooze creativity and strategic thinking.

It’s not necessary to have a degree, so no matter what route you take after you leave school you’re not left out. And great news! Our last Table cohort were all hired and promoted to account executives!

We want the industry to be diverse and inclusive.

It’s important that all young people feel it’s a sector where they can thrive – because of this, we’ve been going out there to show them just that.

We’ve partnered with 2-3 Degrees to run a series of mentoring sessions, and through partnering with Zero Gravity we’ve also offered a summer placement to give students the experience of working in a PR and social agency.

We’re also part of the Bloom Mentoring programme, where team members give up time each month to mentor young women working in the communications industry.

What GOOD looks like

GR Stoke Academy

VCCP Stoke Academy is an initiative to tackle the lack of socio-economic diversity in our industry, a lot of which comes down to it being so London-centric.

The Stoke Academy works with the local community to raise awareness of our industry and provide jobs in the local area through internships and apprenticeships. In 2023 it won Marketing Week’s inaugural Trailblazer Award.

Our work has been challenging perceptions and we couldn’t be prouder.

We’ve even picked up some awards. Our ‘All Inclusive Photo Project’ for our client Celebrity Cruises has scooped 10 awards globally.
