The Challenge
The rising cost of motoring is hitting drivers at a time when household budgets are stretched more than ever before. Halfords challenge was to communicate their commitment to help to keep UK drivers motoring for less by creatively bringing to life their range of products, services and expertise that makes every journey a little more affordable.
The Solution
As petrol prices continued to soar, we worked with Halfords to introduce a new Fuel Efficiency Pack at Autocentres nationwide. This new treatment cleans away carbon deposits in engine and fuel systems, improving fuel efficiency, while at the same time reducing exhaust emissions to boost engine performance.
To creatively bring this service to life and demonstrate the cost-saving benefit for motorists, we partnered with three-time Guinness World Record holder for hypermiling - Kevin Booker - who independently verified the service and offered tips to Halfords’ customers on how to make their fuel last for longer. We illustrated our story with a raft of rich media assets including an SEO optimised press release, a 'how-to’ video with Kevin Booker, picture story, tips and finally a social content in partnership with motoring influencer, Joe Achilles.
The service was only available to book via Halfords.com, helping to drive valuable traffic to the website.
