The Challenge

Suntory Beverage & Foods GB&I produce two of the nation’s best loved and most well known soft drinks, Ribena and Lucozade. Our task was to ensure this love extended to the parent brand’s reputation as a leader in the sector for corporate responsibility in areas ranging from the circular economy to employee wellness. Operating in a live issues landscape, from sugar taxes to deposit return schemes, we helped SBF GB&I navigate complex challenges to showcase how their growth is good for not only shareholders but also society and the planet.

The Solution

We showcased how Japanese ownership is refreshing traditional British best practices across family favourite brands such as Lucozade and Ribena. By positioning the UK team as thought leaders in industry and working practice innovation we helped shape stories that seamlessly splice public policy, consumer insights and cutting edge science.

Our story-mining across the business uncovered numerous existing world-first stories that had previously not been told. These included the climate change resilient blackcurrant, the first endlessly recyclable bottle and how SBF GB&I embraces the Japanese ‘Gemba’ approach to flexible working.
